Helsinki based indie-folk quintet KKR release new album Rich Men Poor Men Good Men.
The band’s latest release, ‘Rich Men Poor Men Good Men’, is a personal and honest record from Antti Reikko, who fronts the group. He’s a singer-songwriter best known for his work with Johnny Superhero, but he also has a solo project under the name ‘KKR’ and we’re proud to feature this lovely indie rock album on our music site today.
‘Rich Men Poor Men Good Men’ is a wonderful, well-crafted indie pop album with a lot of charm and a sense of purpose. The band have a knack of writing gentle melodic songs that prick at humanity’s frailties, rather than wallowing in them.
‘Rich Men Poor Men Good Men’ has a big sound that harks back to the ’00s when bands like Annuals, Grandaddy and the Shins were giving us maximalist acoustic-led indie pop that wasn’t quite getting played on the radio anymore. There’s a touch of punk and 60s psych rock to the music, as well as a hint of a darker psychedelic edge. It’s a wonderful collection of indie-pop songs that will bring you joy, whether you’re looking for an uplifting track or something that can get your mood whipped up. This is a must-have album!
